Welcome! Sterling Photography & Print provides fine-art prints of breath-taking Colorado mountain landscapes that inspire and bring the spectacular natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains to your home, office or favorite space. As a Colorado native that grew up with the Rocky Mountains as my natural playground for hiking, fishing, camping, backpacking, bicycling, skiing and more, I have a deep-rooted appreciation for the peace and joy that one can find in the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Hiking to high alpine elevations in search of solitude in the midst of stunningly beautiful mountainous terrain evokes joy and gratitude at the magnificence of God and the wondrous earthly home He created and bestowed upon us. The tranquility and amazing beauty of early dawn and late dusk as the sun rises and sets, covering mountain peaks and valleys with a marvelous golden light, fills me with joy. Hiking in darkness under star-filled skies to capture spectacular mountain scenes at the golden moments of sunrise and sunset, and sharing these scenes with others through photography, brings wonderful joy to my heart and soul.

It is my great pleasure to make beautiful fine-art prints available to you in refined wood-grained frames that elegantly display the art, and also as unframed prints mounted on archival museum board that allow you to view and display the prints according to your preference. I hope that you enjoy exploring the collection of images and receive some of the joy and peace the scenes give to me by bringing them into your home or workplace.

May God bless you,

Timothy S. Heuer

Uncompahgre peak rises 14,321 feet above sea level in the San Juan Range of the Rocky Mountain in south-west Colorado. The summit affords spectacular vistas of the San Juan Mountains, including numerous peaks summiting above 12,000 13,000 and 14,000 feet. Dispersed between the peaks are beautiful valleys such as the East Fork Valley in this photo to the left.

The photo to the right captures a vista looking west from the summit of Uncompahgre Peak. Wetterhorn Peak, (14,015 feet) is seen in the left foreground.

Uncompahgre Peak rises to 14,321 feet above sea level.  In the photo to the left, Uncompahgre Peak is captured at sunrise from 13,300 feet on a summer morning when the sky was tinted with smoke from distant forest fires.

Longs Peak, with a summit of 14,259 feet above sea level, is a majestic and iconic peak of the Rocky Mountain Front Range.  The climb to the summit covers over 7 miles each way and includes a walk over fields of boulders between 12,500 and 13,000 feet. The photo to the right captures Longs Peak, including the diamond face, at sunrise from the boulder fields at 12,600 feet.

Rustlers Gulch runs through high alpine basins and valleys in the Maroon-Snowmass Wilderness. Summer finds the basins and valley filled with beautiful wildflowers.  The photo to the left, captured the upper basin and peaks in October just before sunset, when water flow in Rustlers Gulch is diminished and the peaks are dressed with light snow.  Precarious Peak (13,104 feet) and additional unnamed peaks bound the basin.

Maroon Peak and North Maroon Peak, known as the Maroon Bells, rise above Maroon Lake and spectacular wildflower filled-valleys in the Maroon-Snowmass Wilderness. Both Maroon Peak (14,156) and North Maroon Peak (14,014) summit above 14,000 feet. Their breath-taking beauty and close proximity to Aspen, Colorado allow them to rank among the most frequently visited mountain scenes in the Rocky Mountains.  The photo to the right captured the Bells and Maroon Lake at sunrise on a glorious summer morning. The All Prints  and Featured Prints pages that follow include photographs of the Maroon Peaks and surrounding peaks and valleys from different vantage points in the Maroon-Snowmass Wilderness.
